The Koondrook Goods Shed

The Koondrook Goods Shed was built in 1890 and was used as a Tramway office and goods shed for storing wool, wheat and other cargo unloaded from paddle steamers at Koondrook Wharf. The cargo was stored at the Koondrook Goods Shed until it was transferred to goods trains on the Kerang - Koondrook Tramway for transport to Melbourne and other towns.

The Koondrook Goods Shed played an important role as the hub of trading for the town connecting the Wharf to the railway and road network helping Koondrook to become an active trading centre and a busy inland port from the late 1800’s. 

After the railway was shut down the shed was left to deteriorate over the years until it was meticulously restored as a restaurant/cafe/ function and event place in a prime position in Koondrook on the banks of the Murray River.
